Grand Trunk Western Railroad Company (1928-) : The Grand Trunk Western Railroad Company was formed on 1 November 1928 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Canadian National Railways by the consolidation of the following 10 Companies: Bay City Terminal Railway Company, the Chicago, Detroit and Canada Grand Trunk Junction Railroad Company, Detroit, Grand Haven and Milwaukee Railway Company, Grand Rapids Terminal Railroad Company, Grand Trunk Western Railway Company, the Michigan Air Line Railway, Toledo, Saginaw and Muskegon Railway Company, the Chicago and Kalamazoo Terminal Railroad Company, the Detroit and Huron Railway Company and the Pontiac, Oxford and Northern Railroad Company.

The new company acquired all the assets and assumed all the liabilities of the former companies. The consolidation was effected to obtain more efficient and economical operation and to place the finance on a sound basis independent, as far as possible, of the parent Canadian National Railways. Several of the remaining ex-Grand Trunk companies were later absorbed. It is still in existence. RG30 General Inventory
