Grand Trunk Junction Railway Company : The Grand Trunk Junction Railway Company, a Grand Trunk owned company, was incorporated under the laws of the State of Illinois on 7 April 1880 in order to afford the Chicago and Grand Trunk Railway Company access to Chicago. A 3.9 mile line was constructed from Elsdon, Illinois, to a junction with the Chicago and Western Indiana Railroad Company's line was constructed. In addition a lease of trackage and terminal facilities was obtained from the Chicago and Western Indiana Railroad. On 1 November 1928 the stock of the Grand Trunk Junction Railway Company was sold to the Grand Trunk Western Railroad Company and the former company was wound up, being formally dissolved in 1935.
