Fonds consists of photographs documenting the domestic activities of Thomas Walter Ross McRae and his family and friends in Montreal, Quebec, as well as canoeing, sailing and yachting activities at the McRae summer cottage at Twelve O'Clock Point, Ontario. Includes portrait of his children Dorothy, Donald and Ruth. Photographs by T.W.R. McRae.

McRae, Thomas Walter Ross, 1864-1941 : Born in Kinston, Ontario on 17 September 1864, Thomas Walter Ross spent his childhood and part of his adult life in Belleville, Ontario. He studied law at Queen's University and graduated in April 1886. He was then employed in the legal offices of the Grand Truck Railway in Belleville. When the offices were moved to Montreal, he transfered there and became the Chief Claims Agent of the Grand Trunk Railway, and later the Canadian National Railway. He married Annetta Louise Haight of St. Catherines on 3 December 1898, and legally changed his name to McRae. His children, Dorothy, Donald and Ruth, born between 1899 and 1903, all carried the McRae name. The family vacationed at their summer cottage at Twelve O'Clock Point, Ontario before owning a cottage on Ile Perrot, Quebec in the early 1920's. T.W.R. McRay died on 13 July 1941.
