Chicago, Detroit and Canada Grand Trunk Junction Railroad Company : The Chicago, Detroit and Canada Grand Trunk Junction Railroad Company, incorporated under the laws of the state of Michigan on 16 March 1858, was conceived as part of the Grand Trunk linking Port Huron, Michigan, (opposite Sarnia, Ontario) to Detroit. A total of 59.52 miles of line were constructed and opened to traffic on 21 November 1859. The Grand Trunk formally leased the line for 999 years from 1 November 1859. On 1 November 1928 the Chicago, Detroit and Canada Grand Trunk Junction Railroad Company was consolidated with nine other companies under the name Grand Trunk Western Railroad Company.
