Grand Trunk, Georgian Bay and Lake Erie Railway Company : The Grand Trunk, Georgian Bay and Lake Erie Railway Company was established on 4 March 1881 (Statutes of Ontario, 41 Vic., Cap. 69) when the Stratford and Huron Railway Company, the Port Dover and Lake Huron Railway Company and the Georgian Bay and Wellington Railway Company amalgamated. The new company was immediately leased to the Grand Trunk. On 4 May 1888, the Grand Trunk, Georgian Bay and Lake Erie Railway Company purchased the South Norfolk Railway. The Grand Trunk built an additional 12.36 miles of line between Owen Sound and Parkhead which was opened about December 1894. Prior to this, on 1 April 1894, Grand Trunk, Georgian Bay and Lake Erie Railway Company amalgamated with, and took the name of, the Grand Trunk Railway Company of Canada. RG30 General Inventory
