Lachine, Jacques Cartier and Maisonneuve Railway Company : The Lachine, Jacques Cartier and Maisonneuve Railway Company organized the Grand Trunk, was incorporated under Quebec Act (9 Ed. VII, Cap. 99) of 8 May 1909 to build a railway from Lachine to Montreal via the rear of the mountain of Montreal. A right-of-way was acquired, but on the formation of the Canadian National such a line became unnecessary and no construction was begun. On 8 June 1954 the Lachine, Jacques Cartier and Maisonneuve Railway Company amalgamated with and took the name Canadian National Railway Company. RG30 General Inventory
