United States and Canada Railroad Company : The United States and Canada Railroad Company was chartered under the laws of the State of New York on 26 May 1883 to build a line from the international boundary at the Montreal and Champlain Junction Railway Company to Fort Covington, N.Y. This 0.61 miles of line was opened for traffic on 24 December 1883. On 17 May 1888 it amalgamated with the Massena Springs and Fort Covington Railroad Company, retaining the name the United States and Canada Railroad Company. It operated a total of 22.18 miles of railway and was leased by the Grand Trunk Railway Company of Canada from 1 January 1889. The United States and Canada Railroad Company amalgamated with and took the name of the Canadian National Railway Company under P.C. 1959-1238 of 24 September 1959. RG30 General Inventory
