Jacques Cartier Union Railway Company : The Jacques Cartier Union Railway Company was incorporated in Quebec on 24 July 1880 (43-44 Vic., Cap. 50) to build a railway from Lachine or Pointe Claire to a point on the Quebec, Montreal, Ottawa and Occidental Railway. This 6.54 miles of line was opened for traffic on 26 June 1884, and was operated by the Grand Trunk from its opening. On 1 April 1893, the Jacques Cartier Union Railway Company amalgamated with and took the name of the Grand Trunk Railway Company of Canada. RG30 General Inventory
