Quebec and Richmond Railroad Company : The Quebec and Richmond Railroad Company was incorporated on 10 August 1850 to build a line from opposite Quebec City to Richmond, Quebec, in order to connect with the St. Lawrence and Atlantic. This 95.43 miles of line (Point Levis to Richmond) was opened for traffic on 27 November 1854. Prior to the completion of the line, The Quebec and Richmond Railroad Company and five other companies amalgamated to form The Grand Trunk Railway of Canada, effective 1 July 1853.
