Series consists of the records of the Oxford Knitting Co. Ltd. Records include the corporate minutebooks, a stock transfer book, tax and other government returns, as well as financial statements. Additional financial records are interfiled with the tax returns, while the Dominion Census of Industry file provides basic information on company production and activities. The majority of the records in the series were created while the company was a subsidiary of Mercury Mills, although some date to the founding of the company in 1916. Additional records pertaining to the company can be found in the financial and subject files of Mercury Mills Ltd, including the details of Mercury Mills' agreement with the Shawinigan Cotton Company.

Oxford Knitting Co : The Oxford Knitting Company was established in 1916 as a subsidiary of the Shawinigan Cotton Co. Located in Woodstock, Ontario, the company manufactured underwear. Mercury Mills acquired Oxford Knitting in 1928, only to close the mill in 1931. In 1936 the property was sold, and Oxford Knitting surrendered its charter in 1937.
