Series consists of the administrative and financial records of the Hamilton Cotton Company and its subsidiary firms. Executive records include the company charter, letters patent and a shareholders register, identifying the shareholders in the firm after the company became public in 1928. Subject files also provide information on the company's organization and financing. Additional files and reports document the company's never ending attempts to make its mills run more efficiently, while appraisal files reveal the state of all the company mills in 1919 and again in the 1960s. The financial records, which include monthly and quarterly statements, statistics, annual reports, cash books and stock books, provide detailed statistical data on company costs and production. Also included in the series is a set of sample books illustrating the company's products.

Series includes a reproduction of a drawing of the Hamilton Cotton Company Limited Mill, with people and vehicles moving around the L-shaped building complex. The work is by an unknown artist and is undated.
