Sub-series consists of the annual reports and financial statements of DHJ Industries Incorporated detailing the few years before Dominion Textile acquired the company. Marketing records and a policy manual provide information on the company after it was acquired by Domtex. Sub-series also consists of two sub-sub-series which relate to Dubin-Huskell-Jacobson (Canada) Limited, and DHJ Canadian, respectively.

DHJ Industries Inc : DHJ Industries Incorporated was established in 1946 as Dubin-Haskell Lining Corporation. In 1951, the company changed its name to DHJ when it acquired a new business partner. Based in New York, the company developed into a world famous distributor and manufacturer of interlinings, with a distribution system in over eighty countries. DHJ was also the parent company of Swift Textiles Incorporated of Georgia, manufacturers of denim fabrics. Dominion Textile acquired DHJ in 1975, when DHJ was in severe financial difficulties. The acquisition became Dominion Textile's first major multi-national holding, opening up markets in the United States and around the world.

In 1979, DHJ Industries merged with Facemate Corporation to form DHJ-Facemate Corporation. The merger, in which Dominion Textile held a 50% interest, was intended to consolidate the manufacturing of interlinings in North America. Dominion Textile sold its shares of DHJ-Facemate in 1981. However, Dominion Textile retained both the Swift denim operations and DHJ's distribution network. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Dominion Textile expanded Swift's operations, and continued to acquire DHJ affiliated companies in Italy, Spain, Portugal, Hong Kong, and other nations. These acquisitions transformed Dominion Textile from Canada's largest textile manufacturer into a multi-national textile giant.
