Various scenes filmed during the 1974 federal election campaign trip by Pierre Elliott Trudeau aboard his campaign train, the Trudeau Express, in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Quebec. Extracts of campaign speeches by Pierre Trudeau are juxtaposed with images of the train, crowds of people waiting at various train stations for the campaign train, crowds of well-wishers greeting him, and Trudeau and his wife Margaret standing at the back of the last rail car as he addresses crowds in various locations. Clips of a speech by Pierre Trudeau about the benefits of the programs run by the Department of Regional Economic Expansion accompany shots of the Prime Minister with men wearing hard hats and goggles. Marching bands, parades and other election campaign festivities are also shown.~The film concludes with an on-board news conference by Trudeau. A reporter (Gail Scott?) questions the Prime Minister about the effectiveness of the train campaign. The title "You and Trudeau for Canada" appears at the end. <13mn 19s>
