The series consists of script for an early interview with William Ronald for CKEY radio on the subject of an exhibition and sale of contemporary paintings at the Art Gallery of Toronto; files on CBC's television arts programme the Umbrella, hosted by Ronald in 1966, including correspondence and research material; Ronald's scripts for his spots on CBC's Assignment 1967; scripts for other CBC programmes 1967, including Ronald's interviews with the American art critic Clement Greenberg; correspondence and manuscripts relating to CBC's Moon, a programme billed as a half-hour of happenings revolving around the arts, which aired in 1970; correspondence, largely audience mail 1970-1972, relating to CBC's As It Happens; and a file on Ronald's work with City-TV 1972-1974, including letters from Barbara Klunder and Tom Hendry 1972. The series includes one script by Lister Sinclair, We All Hate Toronto, and two autographed Stepin Fletcher postcards that can be found in the Umbrella files. Material is arranged chronologically.

Also included in series are moving images and sound recordings containing radio interviews and programs documenting William Ronald as an artists and broadcaster. Series contains excerpts from several CBC programs including As it happens; Theme and variations; Warren Davis tonight; and the Bob McLean show. There are several interviews with Ronald concerning his art and career, as well as various interviews carried out by Ronald. Of interest is a television tour of the artists's stuido hosted by Bob McLean in which Ronald discusses specific paintings on site, as well as providing a demonstration of his watercolour technique. Topics of discussion include: the founding of Painters Eleven, performance, art exhibitions, the art market, and the taxation of artists.
