This is a preliminary record, please consult the linked accessions. Sub-sub-series consists of transportation company files created and/or maintained by the Toronto Regional Office. These files generally document the relationship between the Immigration programme and the transportation companies which bring immigrants and visitors to Canada and specifically the administration of the bonding system. This imposes penalties on companies which bring persons into the country who do not have adequate immigration documentation (Subsection 50(1) of the Immigration Regulations). The files relate to the imposition/non-imposition of the various penalties involved.

Also included are files containing correspondence with employers of foreign workers in Canada. The communications between the Department and the employers generally concerns the requirement that foreign workers possess valid Employment Authorization forms (IMM 1102) before entering Canada.
