The records in this sub-series consist of correspondence, memos, agendas, notes, reports and print and near-print material. The series holds several files on House committees -- Physical and Communications Security, Procedure and Organization, Expenditure Review Committee and National Defence (see also Series IV, sub-series 3, Departmental committees; and Series VI, sub-series 1, Cabinet Committees and confidences). There are some general files on House of Commons procedures, as well as some PC Caucus files (1974-1978). There are as well files on the striking of standing committees once the P.C. Party came to power in 1984. Order Paper Questions, Private Members' Bills and press releases round out this sub-series.

The Private Members' Bills and the Order Paper Questions, in their nature, reflect Dick's particular political interests and his political orientation. Additionally, these files are often glossed, with marginalia and commentary. The files on the striking of standing committees in 1984 offer insight into Dick's contribution to this process. The Caucus files are from the years in opposition, which provide some context for a fonds heavily weighted post-1984.
