The first file in this series contains biographical information on Paul Dick, and several following files contain press releases preceding 1984, during Dick's years in Opposition. This series also contains various mailings runs (although incomplete), such as Dick's Reports from Parliament, Householder, and Keeping in Touch. The latter addresses what Dick felt to be significant issues, such as Free Trade. The preponderant bulk of this series consists of speeches, filed in chronological order. The speeches are broad in range; there are election speeches, non-election addresses to various organizations and groups and speeches in the House.

The speeches, before 1984 and the Tory accession to power, reflect Dick's political positions and philosophy, as well as the P.C. Party's political platform, preferred policies and program. Following 1984, they comment on P.C. governmental policies and programs, and reflect significant issues of the times (Free Trade, Lake Meech, the EH-101 helicopter and so on) as argued by Dick. The speeches reflect Dick's management of his ministries, and the justification for his actions as minister. They also reflect his political constituency in the groups addressed.

Overall, both the mailings and the speeches reveal Dick's political/philosophical positions which underpinned his wardship over the departments which he headed.
