Sub-sub-series consists of one volume of a group of registers which listed persons of Chinese ancestry from various parts of Canada who left Canada temporarily under C.I.9 (and possibly C.I.9A) leave forms numbered 20112-21602, issued 18 January 1912 to 2 January1913. Internal evidence suggests that this ledger was compiled in Vancouver, as the majority of entries are certified by Vancouver staff of the Chinese Immigration service (P. Howard, R. Fawcett, and C.E. Wilson). The ledger may also include departures from Victoria and smaller ports, but further research is needed. The remainder of this group of registers has not survived.

The entries are organized in rough chronological order by "port number" (C.I.9 form number). Each entry gives: traveller's name; last place of residence, length of residence, date of first arrival in Canada, last place of residence in China, and birthplace; occupation; C.I.5 certificate number; age; height and detailed list of physical distinguishing marks; port or place to be visited (or "local trips", if a seaman) and intended dates and means of departure and return; names of Immigration officials confirming the person's I.D.; and remarks, including original name on arrival in Canada and notes on expiry of leave or cases of fraud. Both "native-born" persons and those born outside Canada are included.

In addition, a one-page document, "Revenue Statement a/c Chinese Immigration for the Year Ending June 30, 1889," was found inserted in this register.
