The photograph shows twenty one officers and men, thought to be members of a Canadian Expeditionary Force group of engineers, standing behind or beside a lightly armoured narrow gauge railway engine "somewhere in France". Lloyd Aubrey Williams is at the rear of the photo, standing on the engine, with a white lanyard around his shoulder.
