General note:

Photographs relating to Sir John Pitka's attempts to establish an Estonian settlement near Stuart Lake, British Columbia, in the 1920s. Included are photographs of Pitka and his family, his initial camps and log house, Linda and Aleksandr Päären's log house at Stuart Lake, Baron Stael von Holstein and some of his activities, Pitka's saw mill and logging activities, and photographs of Stuart Lake, the Stuart River below Fort St. James, and the Hell's Gate Canyon on the Fraser River..
