Subseries documents much of the early history of the ICO through a broad variety of records. There are files and technical drawings relating to ICO steamers and boats, minutes and correspondence of the Ottawa Valley Lumberman's Association, reports and correspondence concerning the environmental impact of sawdust on the Ottawa River, and papers and plans pertaining to Chats Falls and the Coulonge River. There are also extensive legal records, some financial papers and other early records concerning the ICO, the Coulonge and Crow River Boom Company and the Quinze Rapids Improvement Co. These records were packed and set aside by the ICO most likely when the company moved its head office from Middle St. to Booth St. in Ottawa. A detailed index of the papers is located in Vol.86, file 5, and a general index for the numbered Sundry Papers can be found in Vol.90, file 2.
