This sub-series contains both textual and electronic records. The textual records contain: correspondence, memoranda, notes and related material from Mulroney's Chiefs of Staff: Bernard Roy, 1984-1987; Derek Burney, 1987-1988; Stanley Hartt, 1989-1990; Norman Spector, 1990-1992; Hugh Segal, 1992-1993; and David McLaughlin, 1993. Material covers many topics including appointments, the constitution, Meech Lake Accord, employment, free trade agreement, federal-provincial relations, immigration, foreign policy, defence and government expenditure (vols 1-93).

The electronic records were created on personal computers by individual staff members working in the Chiefs of Staff Office. The majority of the electronic records are dated 1990-1991, thus were created during the terms of Stanley Hartt (1989-90) and Norman Spector (1990-92). The records contain speech notes, correspondence, memos to/from Chiefs of Staff, articles and ministerial travel requests. (Volume 94)
