Accession consists of correspondence, personal and professional records, drafts of manuscripts, research notes, school course materials, financial, legal, and administrative records, and indices concerning the activities of the Massey Family and the Massey Foundation. Records pertaining to Vincent and Alice Massey are primarily from the period of the Second World War, reflecting their social activities and the establishment of Garnons, a convalescent home for Canadian officers funded by the Foundation. The majority of the records relate to Hart Massey, younger son of Vincent and Alice, in his capacity as flight lieutenant in RCAF, award-winning architect, writer, and director of the Massey Foundation for nearly thirty years.
Accession consists of oral history interviews with twenty-two Canadian artists whose art work was included in the Massey Foundation's national collection of contemporary Canadian crafts. Interviews conducted by John Flanders, 1979-1980.
