General note:

The textual records in the accession consist of a holograph poem by Alexander McLachlan "Dear Emerson thou art to me....", signed and dated 1883, headed Amaranth Station; a manuscript poem "To George McDonald" signed Mary McLachlan; a manuscript poem "The Queenly Sisterhood", in same handwriting; and five clippings relating to Alexander McLachlan and the McLachlan family.
The photographs consist of one cabinet card of 'Aunt Annie McLachlan', (probably Alexander's sister) taken by W. Still, Orangeville, Ontario; one boudoir card of Janet McLachlan,(possibly a niece)taken by E.H. King, of Grand Rapids, Michigan; and a photomechanical reproduction, probably a page from a book, of Alexander McLachlan, from an original photograph by Ewing and Company, Toronto.
