Documentary series hosted by Huw Weldon on the property of British royalty - art treasures; buildings, grounds and the royal ship, "Britannia". The historical context of these properties in terms of their origins with past Kings and Queens of Britain is underscored. Also, the activies and contributions of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh as "curators" of their royal heritage are well brought out and tours of Buckingham, Windsor and Hampton Court palaces are made.~Scenes are shown of: Queen Elizabeth II's coronation; Windsor Great park; Coronoation ceremonial artifacts (some with Canadian motifs); Buckingham Palace during the war (W.W. II) years and immediately afterwards; King Henry VII's hunting knives; busts of Winston Churchill and of a Duke of Marlborough; a triple portrait of Charles Ist by Van Dyck; a self-portrait by the painter, Rubens; the study (painting) of old age by the painter, Rembrandt and other works by Vermeer; a Willis organ; a Ruckers harpsichord; vases belonging to Marie Antoinette; a dining service belonging to Louis VI (manufactured at Sevre).~A Hampton Court social function is shown at which are seen: Prince Philip; Queen Elizabeth II; Princess Margaret with filmmaker, Brian Forbes; Prince Andrew and Lady Armstrong-Jones.~Additional scenes include: Prince Philip on his trip to Antarctica; Nigerian river spectacles being watched by Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh; Eskimo sculpture in the Royal collection; restoration workshops in action; a forgery of the painting, "Self-Portrait" by Rembrandt; the portrait, "Young Man" by Raphael; paintings by Australian painters, Sidney Noland and Albert Namatjira; paintings by Rex Battarbee; the Royal parks; art treasures and artifacts given to the Queen during her visits to India, Nigeria, Ghana and New Zealand; Finnish royalty aboard the yacht, "Britannia"; the Queen's art glass collection including, the "Audubon Birds" and works by Laurence Whistler and Sidney (Wall?); a doll house given to the Queen by the Lord Mayor of Cardiff,; portraits of Queen Elizabeth I, King Henry V, King Edward IV; Mary Queen of Scots.~Comments are made by: Sir Oliver (Millen ?), the Queen's picture surveyor; Geoffrey (Cole-Belaire ?) on French furniture and china; Prince Philip talking about Windsor Castle's Great Park and its agricultural projects; Prince Charles on Eskimo sculpture. <57mn 33s>
