Canada. National Advisory Council on Manpower : The National Advisory Council on Manpower was established by PC 567, 1 February 1951, in order "to advise the Minister of Labour on matters related to the most effective utilization in the national interest of the present and potential man and woman working force in Canada." The council eventually provided advice on such subjects as national registration; technical and scientific personnel; vocational training; handicapped persons; industrial workers; labour market priorities; manpower; statistics; and security screening of merchant seamen during the Korean War.
