This collection includes photographs of a variety of activities, the vast majority dealing with the Canadian North in the years 1924-28. Included are numerous photographs relating to the work of cinematographer G.H. Valiquette who shot the film which documented the 1927-8 RCAF aerial survey expedition to Ungava Bay and Hudson Strait, and which saw the creation of bases at Port Burwell, Nottingham Island, and Wakeham Bay; outdoor scenes with hunting and photographer apparatus; views of icebreakers Montcalm and Lady Grey; Arctic life during the period 1924-28, including the Eastern Arctic patrol in 1927-8; views of the Lower Saint-Lawrence, Cap Rouge, and the Windsor, Ontario flying school; and two miscellaneous photographs of Interior of Chevrier residence on Lagauchetière St. W., Montreal, Que.; British troops during Battle of the Somme, France, 1916.
