Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Bache Peninsula Detachment : The Bache Peninsula Detachment was established in 1926 at the Bache Peninsula on Ellesmere Island. The detachment was closed when the supply steamer was unable to reach the settlement because of ice conditions in Smith Sound. Initially reporting to M Division, the detachment reported to Headquarters Division after M designation was discontinued in 1931.
