Farmer of Toronto who talks about his experiences as a labourer-teacher for Frontier College in 1920. Farmer recalls his work preparing the roadbed for the railroad track for the Rat Portage Lumber Company located at Menzies Bay, British Columbia. Discussing the working and living conditions, Farmer recalls the heavy manual labour, the skilled men, many of whom were Northern European immigrants, who felled the large trees, the strike organized by the One Big Union and $4 daily wage.
