The fonds consists of first day covers of Canada, addressed to the Hon. Louis St.Laurent and cover the period 1965-1973. All covers are signed by Louis St. Laurent and are Canadian Bank Note Company first day covers.

Peacock, William H., 1941- : Born in Quebec City in 1941, William H. Peacock was educated in Montreal, Toronto, and Ottawa. He married the late Liane Macdonald and is the father of two sons, Matthew and Justin. He taught for thirty three years in Ottawa as a high school English teacher, from which he retired in 1997. Since his retirement he has remained active in the field of secondary education. His interest in philately dates from an early age when he was encouraged by two close relatives, an uncle, Dr. Arthur Tardif of Montreal and an aunt, Thérèse Tardif of Quebec City. Both were stamp collectors, and eventually Mr. Peacock would inherit parts of their collections. Mr.Peacock remains an active amateur collector in Ottawa.

Custodial history:

The covers were inherited by Mr. Peacock from his Aunt, Ms. Therese Tardif of Quebec City. Ms. Tardif acquired many Canadian first day covers while working in Louis St.Laurent's law offices in Quebec City and with him while he was Prime Minister of Canada., Mr. Peacock amalgamated the covers into his collections of first day covers.
