This collection consists of 1 photographic album and 13 loose b&w photographs of Canadian (and American) river and lake steamships, compiled by Robert Ward Shepherd III. All images in the scrapbook are captioned, as are most of the loose items. Some items in the scrapbook are postcards, and also included are two reproductions of drawings of steamships. Robert Ward Shepherd III (1891-1962) was a descendent of Captain R. W. Shepherd, President of the Ottawa River Navigation Company, founded in 1847, and a historian of North American steamships. This collection complements other earlier acquisitions from the Shepherd family on this subject.
