Mirafi Inc : Mirafi was incorporated as NBDM Inc. in Delaware, United States, in 1979. A subsidiary company of the Celanese Corporation, the company produced civil engineering fabrics, otherwise known as geotextiles. Dominion Textile acquired Mirafi in 1981 through its American subsidiary, Moco Incorporated, and renamed the company Mirafi (Moco Inc. subsequently changed its name to Dominion Textile (U.S.A.) Inc.). Mirafi merged with two other Dominion Textile (U.S.A.) subsidiaries, Mirafi International Corporation and Moultrie Products Incorporated in 1985. The new Mirafi remained a U.S. based producer of geotextiles. In 1991, Dominion Textile sold Mirafi, and most of its assets, to Nicolon Corporation. Those assets still remaining under the Dominion Textile umbrella were reconstituted as the Promir Corporation.
