This is a preliminary record, please consult the linked accessions. Series consists of project files (1976-1980) that document the Branch's numerous and varied activities within the CEIC during the 1970s and 1980s. They trace the development and implementation of operational and management-oriented automated information systems supporting the Commission's broad employment, unemployment and immigration mandates. The files include documentation on the introduction and subsequent modification of a host of automated applications intended to improve the Commission's program delivery. Also included are Systems and Procedure (5000 Series) central registry files. These applications include the development and implementation of such automated systems as the Basic Operational Support System (BOSS), the Field Operational Security System (FOSS), the Jobs Corps System (JCS) and the massive Employment and Immigration Information Systems.

Canada. Employment and Immigration Canada (Commission). Systems and Procedures : The Systems and Procedures Branch (formerly National Systems and Services Branch) is responsible for providing automated and telecommunications support for the Commission's numerous employment, unemployment, and immigration programs. As part of its many duties the Branch develops automated information support systems for Commission management, provides on-going automated operational support to all program and support areas, and implements new systems designed to improve the Commission's service delivery.
