John S. Brooks Company : The John S. Brooks Company of Dunnville, Ontario was acquired by Dominion Textile in 1939. It operated as a subsidiary of Drummondville Cotton, supplying fishing nets for the Great Lakes market. Throughout the Second World War, the company was an important supplier to both the military and the fishing industry, but by the 1960s the company was no longer profitable. The Dunnville plant closed in 1963, when operations were transferred to Drummondville.

The John S. Brooks Co. was renamed Bluenose Netting & Twine Ltd in 1963. A subsidiary of Dominion Textile, it focused on the sale of fish nets and twine. Bluenose Netting and Twine Ltd. operated out of the Drummondville plant.
