Sub-series contains the executive, legal and financial records of Esmond Mills Ltd and includes the minutebooks, bylaws and common share certificate book of the company. Legal records consist of a stock ledger and transfer book, as well as the letters patent. Financial statements are limited to the 1960s and 1970s, when Esmond Mills was controlled by Dominion Textile. Also included in the series are the financial statements of the Lanark Mills Limited.

Additional legal records, including title deeds, trademarks and patents, collective agreements and other files relating to plant operations are located in the Dominion Textile Inc. series.

Esmond Mills Ltd : In 1930, Esmond Mills Limited of Rhode Island established a plant in Granby, Quebec and became a major manufacturer of blankets, bedspreads and table linens in Canada. Dominion Textile purchased a 50% interest in the Esmond Mills Ltd. in 1959, acquiring the remaining stock in 1972. In 1975, Esmond Mills was amalgamated with Fiberworld and Penmans Limited to form Domil Industries. The Granby plant continued to operate, first under Domil Industries, and then in 1987, as part of Esmond Textiles Incorporated.
