Sub-sub-series consists of two sets of aperture cards which are copies of original registers and indexes of land grants. Each aperture card consists of a microfiche image held in a paper index card. In most cases each image is one page of the original register. The registers are also known as RG15 aperture card books 157 to 202.

Under the Dominion Lands Act and several other federal statues grants of crown land were awarded for a variety of purposes by the Department of the Interior to the Métis, Original White Settlers, homesteaders, corporations, and private interest groups. The registers and indexes held in this sub-sub-series itemize these grants. Each register is organized differently. The registers held in this sub-sub-series document the following land grants: grants for settlements and town sites, land sales, grants to Métis and Original White Settlers, special grants, soldier settlement, school lands, grants to the University of Manitoba, Hudson's Bay Company lands, rights-of-way, grants to railway companies and colonization companies, land reverted to the Crown, and land acquired from Indian reserves.

Custodial history:

The aperture cards in this sub-series were created by a successor to the Department of the Interior sometime between 1948 and 1970. They were copied from original registers and ledgers and the originals were then destroyed. The aperture cards were then transferred to the National Archives in the early 1970s.

RG15 Aperture Card books were available in the LAC reference room until January 2023.
