Many of the photographs are directly related to the work of the survey parties: views of monuments and their general surroundings; survey equipment; men surveying, running rods, etc.; campsites; transportation, including boats, canoes, horses, airplanes and automobiles. Many photos show general terrain, farm and other buildings, Native and Inuit camps, and views of Native and Inuit people.
