B. Schioler, former sales manager for Manitoba Bridge and Engineering Works Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of the Dominion Bridge Company. Schioler recalls his first job with the company in 1912 when he was hired on as an office clerk and remained with Dominion Bridge for 58 years. Focusing on his subsequent sales career with the company, Schioler explains the process of submitting a tender for a contract. Other topics include: the many projects he has worked on such as bridges for the Grand Trunk Railroad; mining projects in Western Canada; the International Nickel Co. at Thompson, Manitoba; pressure vessels for Alberta oil refineries; and the production of shells, army equipment and ships during World War II.
