Wysotski discusses his art education at the Ontario College of Art between 1982 and 1983; the influence of his experimental arts teacher Gus Wiseman; his experience as a painter prior to art college; his family background; his work entitled "Rainwater" which the gallery is planning to purchase; and New York artists Lizanne Merrill and Solee Pierce, whose futuristic show inspired him to use computers in his work. He explains his technique of painting over the top of computer images, his use of colour; the human figure as a key element in his work; problems and advantages in using computers in art; and the direction of his work, which attempts to combine traditional oil painting with modern technology. His upcoming show will include oil paintings, computer images, and some of both.Subjects:ART EXHIBITIONS~ART STUDY & TEACHING~CANADIAN ARTISTS~COMPUTER ART~INTERVIEWS~PAINTERS~ONTARIO COLLEGE OF ART~ROBERT MCLAUGHLIN GALLERY~MERRILL, LIZANNE~MURRAY, JOAN~PIERCE, SOLEE~WISEMAN, GUS~WYSOTSKI, ANDREWLanguage:EnglishDetailed holdings information: -
