Photos of varying size, quality and subjects. Prints are mounted on board. Seems to complement acc. 1972-011 and 1976-185.
The first part of this accession (i.e. 1988-068), consisting of Geological Survey photographs mounted on heavy card stock, with hand- and typewritten identification for each photograph, belongs to a series of photographs acquired from the Geological Survey and accessioned as 1972-011; in 1986 this accession was expanded when approximately 2,800 similarly mounted photographs were acquired in a direct transfer from Environment Canada..
The latter part of this accession, consisting of negatives and photographic reports, is directly related to accession 1976-185, which consists almost entirely of alphanumerically arranged prints, stapled to rose-coloured cards. The negatives in 1988-068 may include some images found in print form in 1976-185, as well as images not found in 1976-185; the photographic reports appear to directly correspond to prints found in 1976-185, and greatly augment the informational.
value of the images found in that accession..
