The 1989 show combined flying demonstrations and, for the first time, an international trade show. It went by the name of Airshow Canada. The documentary shows the behind-the-scenes planning of the show, the efforts of the show's organizers to convince large aerospace companies from around the world to attend and the show's ambition to become the top trade show for the international aerospace industry. Shown are flying demonstrations by the U.S. Thunderbirds and Canadian Snowbirds precision flying teams and the flight by a Canadian pilot of a Soviet MiG 29. Also included are interviews of members of the Soviet delegation, at the show to market Soviet-built aircraft, brief comments from various marketing representatives about the success of the show, and part of Prime Minister Brian Mulroney's speech to open the air show.Language:EnglishNotes:Detailed holdings information: -
