In a prepared statement, Albert Routliffe, executive board member, Local 598, reports that only three women opposed the resolution in support of the strike at Wednesday's meeting of 900 strikers' wives at the Mine Mill hall. Routliffe expresses disbelief that the campaign for a government-supervised vote continues despite Premier Frost's indication that there is no basis in the Ontario Labour Relations Act for such a vote. He expresses union concerns about Inco's letter and about rumours that Inco plans to curtail production in Sudbury. Includes reading of statement by Local 598 President Mike Solski on Wednesday's meeting. Statement by Mrs. Thomas McQuaid, leader of the strikers' wives, giving notice that she is going to contact the Mayor to cancel Friday's meeting at the Sudbury Arena.Subjects:MINERS~ONTARIO~STRIKERS' WIVES~STRIKES & LOCKOUTS~SUDBURY~TRADE UNIONS~INTERNATIONAL NICKEL COMPANY OF CANADA~ROUTLIFFE, ALBERT Language:EnglishDetailed holdings information: -
