Series consists of specialized files dealing with "Operation Pinetree", a joint air defence arrangement between Canada and the United States as a region under the North Atlantic Treaty, entailing radar stations with the necessary communications to support effectively the operations of fighter squadrons. Some of these records are concerned with the administration of the radar stations, but most deal solely with contracts for military supplies. The United States-Canada Air Defence Radar System was known as the Pinetree Line. (RG65, Vols. 32-53)
