The accession consists of records created and/or maintained by the Vancouver District Office of Indian and Northern Affairs Canada, and its predecessors. Predecessors include: the Vancouver Agency, the Fraser District Office and Agency, the New Westminster Agency, and the South Coast Education District.

The accession includes, but is not limited to records relating to: organization and administration, including methods and procedures; band management, including minutes of council, and membership; miscellaneous buildings and projects, including council or community hall; welfare equipment and supplies, including relief food assistance, and fire fighting equipment; farming, including fencing, and fairs; finance, including audit reports, and accounting and debts; law enforcement, including trespassing on reserves, trading on reserves, immorality, remission of sentence, non-support, non-support, traffic control regulations, employment of counsel, taxation, truancy, impounding of livestock, divorce, separation and annulment, juvenile delinquency, accidents, drownings, manslaughter, etc., assault, burglary and theft, dogs, permit to reside in USA, indebtedness, and game and fisheries laws; economic development, including research and surveys, resettlement, workmen's compensation, Indian Economic Development Fund loans and/or guaranteed loans, and garden and home improvement competitions; natural resources, including fishing, gravel and sand, mining, oil and gas, and timber; placement of labour, including consultation for employment opportunities, and relocation to employment; reports and returns, including revenue returns; trust funds, including salaries for band officials and casual employment, commutation, band property insurance, and winter works incentive program; welfare, including housing, family allowance, care of children, care of the handicapped, miscellaneous assistance, and welfare and education assistance to non-indigenous living on reserve; rights of way, including railroad, and power line; leases; sale of Indian land; miscellaneous land matters, including cemetery sites, and parks and playgrounds; individual case files, including enfranchisement, and the mentally incompetent; property damage and protection; statistics.
