Canada. Task Force on Informatics : This Treasury Board Task force was created in 1983 to investigate the whole scope of informatics resources management in the Federal Public Service. It represented a major Treasury Board effort to rationalize the acquisition and implementation of informatics technology in the Federal government. The scope of the Task Force's mandate included the review of existing policies, practices and structures; to make recommendations for changes in regards to specialized training programs; to develop policy where interim recommendations have received approval; to help establish the mechanisms to ensure that the implementation of information technology is compatible with human resources, and to develop a long-range strategic plan governing the adoption informatics technology across the entire Federal Government. The Task Force was chaired by the Assistant Secretary of the Pesonnel Policy Branch
