This is a preliminary record, please consult the linked accession. Sub-series consists of a segregated registry files of correspondence arranged by subject and containing most formal correspondence related to Treasury Board Minutes, 1948-1965. The subjects include records related to Departmental estimates and budgets, construction of public builidings and major projects, management of the public service and personnel policy. The sub-series is not complete and does not incorporate all correspondence. Much of the correspondence found in this series is also found in sub-series, Gray Volumes which are arranged chronologically rather than by subject file. The file codes of these registry files are cross referenced on the card index system described in the sub-series Indexes and Registers and found in finding aid 55-24. The different series may be used as cross references to locate correspondence or related documentation depending on the information possessed by the researcher. By virtue of the subject arrangement of the files, this series serves as a defacto subject index for the main decision file series for the years 1948-1965.
