Sub-series consists of letterbooks and binders containing copies of the official response of the Treasury Board to various submissions. The records are arranged chronologically according to date that the letter was sent, and then by Treasury Board minute number. A letter may be accessed in this parallel series in relation to the main series of decision files by consulting the cross reference card system (FA 55-24). The index card will indicate if a related letter exists and provide the exact date of the letter which will then be found in the relevant Gray Volume. Much of the correspondence is arranged chronologically in the Gray Volumes, is arranged by subject in the special registry of correspondence found in Sub-series Special Subject Registry and Decision Correspondence.
