The series consists of records on paper, records in electronic form, videocassettes and sound recordings. The records on paper are arranged in two parts, with interviews with Sydney Newman placed first and the manuscripts of his unpublished memoirs placed following them.

The interviews include one for the film "Dreamland" and ones by Melvyn Bragg, CKVU, Norma Gilbert, Paul Madden, "DW Bulletin", "Dr. Who Magazine" and the BBC archives. The material on Newman's memoirs include both records on paper and records in electronic form, comprising various drafts.

The interviews are arranged chronologically; the paper copies of the memoirs are arranged alphabetically by title and the electronic copies are arranged chronologically.

The videotapes and sound recordings are of interviews of Newman talking about his life and career, broadcasting and the National Film Board, as well as a recorded telephone conversation between Newman and an editor of a television interview of Newman.
