The Livestock and Poultry Division worked towards increasing efficiency and effectiveness in marketing red meats and poultry products to provide producers with a fair financial return and consumers with acceptable products. The Division also developed programs relating to the grading, at the plant level, of beef, pork, veal and lamb. It also upheld the quality of shell eggs, egg products and eviscerated poultry. It registered plants producing these products and monitored their grading and packaging operations.
