MacLaren, Nicholson Ian Murray, b. 1896 : Dr. Ian MacLaren, business executive, was born in Saint John, N.B., and educated at St. Andrew's College and the University of N.B. He was employed with Canadian Industries Ltd., 1920-1926. He is chairman of Rochester & Pittsburgh Coal Co. (Canada) Ltd. which he joined in 1927 and was a member of the Dominion Coal Board from 1947 until it was dissolved in 1970. He was Associate Coal Controller, Dept. of Munitions and Supply, 1943-1947, and a director of Continental Timber Co. Ltd.
